{photography} Family Shoot

To celebrate the holidays and also the addition of our beautiful daughter to our family, I did a mini family shoot.  I was also super happy to be able to capture a before delivery and one year postpartum shot in my maternity photo series.  My daughter was a little dubious as to what was happening but my son definitely had a lot of fun jumping on the bed during the shoot, maybe too much! He did nap very well afterwards though 🙂  We are so happy to have an updated family photo finally and our family & friends loved how the photos turned out. Yay!  Happy Holidays 2014 from our family to yours!

A huge thank you to all our clients, friends and family for your support this year! You helped turn what started out as a hobby inspired by my children into a trademarked and fully licensed newborn photography and design business that helps pay the bills for our young family. I am blessed to work with some truly amazing babies this year (all girls and almost all with names starting with the letter A!) and I am humbled that you chose me to photograph your family. Thank you! I hope 2014 was an awesome year for you and may the new year bring you much joy, peace and good health!

{photography} Lady I’s 1st Birthday Dol

Our family was invited to a beautiful dol (Korean 1st birthday celebration) just before the holidays and it was so much fun! Everything was super festive and cute, down to sweet Lady I’s traditional attire.  She was even wearing the headpiece from mommy’s dol – how wonderful to be able to pass on a piece of yourself to your baby!  Happy 1st birthday Lady I!  May you grow up to be a blessed lady, happy & healthy!

Happy 1st birthday my dear daughter 🙂 I was originally going to do a cake smash session but decided to do a cute balloon shoot instead – just something different, change things up 🙂  Also didn’t want my daughter growing up thinking that she’s just following big brother’s footsteps! ha! We had a lot of fun because come on what baby doesn’t like balloons? And it’s true, as I was photographing my baby girl, images of her first year flew by from rolling, sitting, crawling, pulling up to her sweet, endearing smile and infectious laughter.  Adjusting to life as a family of four was a lot more challenging than I had imagined but we are finally starting to fall into a steady routine now! The other day, my husband had a huge smile on his face as he watched our son run through the house shouting, “baby sister, it’s time to wake up from your nap!”.  And like the rambunctious little boy he is, our son shot through our bedroom door where his baby sister was napping, climbed onto the bed and gave her a gentle pat, then a huge hug. Life can not be any sweeter with these two babies!

O bed! O bed! delicious bed!
That heaven upon earth to the weary head.”
-Thomas Hood

My latest baby was a sleeping beauty.  It took a few good feedings to get Lady S full but once she was content, there was no stopping her sleep!  Every baby has their preferences for certain positions depending on how they curled up inside momma’s womb.  Some babies rock the frog position and most babies enjoy dreaming in buckets.  But Lady S loved being sprawled on our cute baby bed! So I call Lady S my sleeping beauty – doesn’t she look just like a doll?  This was another special session because Lady S and her elder brother come into this world very close in age to my two babies and momma is a good friend.  I imagine many fun playdates in the future and am so blessed and honored to be able to capture this special moment for a dear friend.
